Founded in 2016 as a collaboration between filmmakers Kenneth Chu and Diana Ecker, Studio Esmé has a simple goal: to make exceptional short-form cinema projects that depict the perspective, nature, and will of youths growing up in the Internet Age.

Based in Brooklyn, our filmmaking collective partners with aligned media companies, branding, and educational institutions. (We're open to original pitches too!)

Our name comes from the protagonist in J.D. Salinger's short story For Esmé, With Love And Squalor, reminding us that even at our most cynical, disillusioned, or lonely, the perspective of youths might make all of the difference one day.
